World War I =

MAIN background causes:
  1. Militarism: Glorification of the military arms race.. competition between countries to build up military powers. Both England and Germany had strong army's
  2. Alliances: Friendship between Nations formed because of fear and jealousy. Germany,Austria and Hungary known as the "Triple Alliance" and France, Great Britain and Russia known as the "Triple Entente"
  3. Imperialism:  Competition between countries over colonies because of the new markets in the African Empires and the Raw materials needed for industrialisation
  4. Nationalism: The pride and loyalty to there country had regional/border conflicts, Also Germany and France fought over Alsace Lorrain. Lastly the multinational Empires like Austria, Hungary and Ottoman empire feared Nationalism.
How did it all start?
In the Late July of 1914, The promise that Germany will support Austria-Hungarians to take over serbia and portions of the balkans. Russia's reason to joining the war was because of the long time alliance between Russia and Serbia . This influenced Other Nations to take part and the alliances formed which started WWI. Russia suffered great losses and had internal conflicts, ultimately causing them to leave the war. Russia went from being an autocracy run by Tsar Nicholas II to a communist government led by Lenin.

 How did WWI effect Russia?
  •  WWI weakened the Russian Government
  • Mismanagement of the war
  • Lost control of the country
  • Russian failure in the war and social unrest led to the Russian Revolution
  • Lead people to turn against Tsar

My opinion=
I think Russia should have not associated with there allies because they couldn't afford losing all the industries which were suffering including grain, coal and oil. They should have learned that although they had the biggest army, it definitely wasn't the strongest. I think they deserved all the suffering because WWI didn't teach them anything, after the war they had a civil war inside Russia and then later joined WWI.  It should have taught the lesson of not to get into a war they can't afford, because after WWI  they were in a sticky position.
